Our editorial purpose
Qatar by Date helps international visitors plan trips around their travel dates. Our editorial work connects event information, monthly climate context and practical routes so readers can understand how individual facts affect their plans.
We prioritise clarity, relevance and information that readers can check. Our role is to explain what a source establishes, what remains uncertain and where editorial judgement helps turn that information into a useful planning suggestion.
How we choose what to cover
We select content around practical questions: what is happening during a visit, what conditions are typical for that month and how several days in Qatar could fit together.
Our main areas of coverage are events, monthly travel guides and itineraries. Each serves a different purpose:

Event pages identify activities, dates, venues and sources that visitors can check.

Monthly guides connect seasonal context with events for a particular month and year.

Itineraries explain a coherent route, its pace and the reasoning behind the arrangement.
We favour useful detail over longer lists. Inclusion does not imply that we have personally attended an event or experienced every activity described.
Sources and event verification
Event information may be discovered through organisers, venues, ticketing providers and other identifiable listings. A collected record is working material; collection alone does not establish its accuracy.
Before publication, key details should be checked against the available source information. We prioritise organiser and venue pages, and booking providers identified by the organiser, for dates, locations, admission details and changes.
Where we use the term “verified”, it refers to information checked against an identifiable source at the time of review. It does not guarantee that an event will take place unchanged or that tickets remain available.
We distinguish the source used to discover an event from the organiser’s own information. A link labelled “Official source” should lead to the relevant organiser, venue or official event page.
When sources disagree, we seek clarification or explain the uncertainty. We do not fill missing dates, prices, opening hours or availability with assumptions.
Facts, data and editorial guidance
Readers should be able to distinguish three kinds of information:

Sourced facts: details reported by an identifiable provider, such as an event’s announced dates or venue.

Weather and climate data: observations, forecasts or historical averages, labelled according to what they represent.

Editorial guidance: suggestions about routes, timing or travel priorities, supported by an explanation of the reasoning.
A planning suggestion is not a confirmed service or booking. We avoid presenting subjective judgements as universal facts, and we do not imply first-hand experience where none has been established.
Weather and monthly climate context
Long-term climate averages describe historical patterns for a stated location and period. They are not a forecast for the selected year or a promise of conditions on a particular day.
Current observations and forecasts serve different purposes and should be labelled separately from climate averages. Where figures relate to Doha, we identify that location rather than imply that conditions are identical throughout Qatar.
Our explanations should preserve the meaning of the underlying data. We do not turn average temperatures into unsupported safety assurances or precise predictions.

How we develop itineraries
Our itineraries provide adaptable starting points, especially for first-time visitors. We consider the relationship between places, the balance of experiences and the pace across the whole trip.
The core route remains useful beyond a particular month. Temporary events and seasonal information provide additional context rather than becoming permanent assumptions within the route.
We explain why an arrangement may work and where visitors may need to adapt it. Suggested schedules do not confirm current opening hours, transport availability, admission or suitability for every traveller.
AI assistance and editorial responsibility
AI tools may assist with organising information, drafting and structuring content. Their output is working material, not evidence that a claim is correct.
Factual claims require support from identifiable sources or supplied data. AI-generated wording must be reviewed for accuracy, clarity and relevance before publication. Responsibility for published content remains with Qatar by Date.
We do not use generated text to invent personal travel experiences, professional qualifications or relationships with organisations.
Updates, review dates and historical guides
Event dates, venues and booking arrangements can change after publication. When we identify a material change supported by a reliable source, we aim to update the affected information.
A review date records when information was checked; it does not imply continuous monitoring. A modification date records an update to the page and should not automatically be treated as a fresh review of every fact.
Published monthly guides remain available under their original month and year. Their historical event listings are dated references, not current schedules. New monthly guides should not overwrite earlier editions.
Before making time-sensitive arrangements, readers should consult the organiser or relevant provider for the latest information.
Corrections and reader feedback
Readers can report an error or outdated information through our Contact page. Please include the page address, the detail in question and any supporting source.
We assess reports against the available evidence. Corrections should address the affected information directly. Where an error materially changes the meaning of a page or could affect travel decisions, our standard is to explain the correction on that page.
If an important detail cannot be resolved, we should state the uncertainty or remove the unsupported claim.
Independence and commercial interests
Qatar by Date makes its own editorial decisions and does not represent Qatar Tourism, government bodies, event organisers or venues.
Links to outside organisations help readers check information or take a relevant next step. They do not, by themselves, indicate endorsement or partnership.
Any paid placement, sponsored content or affiliate relationship should be identifiable where relevant. Commercial interests should not determine whether a factual claim is accepted or an error is corrected.
Our responsibility to readers
Our aim is to reduce the effort needed to find, understand and verify travel information. We support informed choices by explaining both the usefulness and the limits of what we publish.
