Ektashif Uzbekistan Exhibition presents works by Qatari artists inspired by an educational journey through Uzbekistan. The exhibition grew from a 2025 trip organised by the Museum of Islamic Art in collaboration with Qatar’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
During the journey, the artists visited Tashkent, Samarkand and Bukhara, exploring traditional arts, Islamic heritage and distinctive Islamic architecture. Every work in the exhibition draws inspiration from Uzbekistan and reflects how the visit expanded the artists’ engagement with traditional Islamic art.
Background to Ektashif
The Uzbekistan journey forms part of a wider educational initiative through which artists have previously visited India, Turkey, Spain and Morocco. These trips provide opportunities for Qatari artists to encounter Islamic heritage and architecture in different cultural settings.

The exhibition runs from 3 September to 28 November 2026 at the Fourth-Floor West Side Gallery, Museum of Islamic Art, Doha.
